My general research interests are in the philosophy of action, moral theory, and moral psychology. I specialize in the various intersections between ethics and the philosophy of action and recently completed my dissertation in the Department of Philosophy at Stanford University under the supervision of Tamar Schapiro (adviser), Michael Bratman, and Nadeem Hussain. I did my undergraduate work in economics at the University of Texas at Austin and received my master's degree in philosophy from the University of London at University College London (UCL).
I am currently a Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at Santa Clara University. For the academic year 2015-2016, I was on paternity leave in the Fall caring for my healthy new daughter. Courses for the Winter and Spring quarters include The Problem of Free Will, and Ethical Issues in Society.
Prior to engaging in philosophy full-time, I was an analyst in the Syndicated and Leveraged Finance group at J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. and later an associate managing conflicts of interests worldwide for JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A.
I live in Mountain View, play soccer, am a 49ers fan, and am married to Julia Grace.
