I am a Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at Santa Clara University.
My research interests are in the philosophy of action, moral theory, and moral psychology, and are generally centered on the various relations between normative demands and autonomous agency. I received my Ph.D. from the Department of Philosophy at Stanford University. My undergraduate work was done in economics at the University of Texas at Austin and I received a master's degree in philosophy from the University of London at University College London (UCL).
Prior to engaging in philosophy full-time, I was an analyst in the Syndicated and Leveraged Finance group at J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. and later an associate managing conflicts of interests worldwide for JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A.
I live in Mountain View, play soccer, am a 49ers fan, and am married to Julia Grace.
